How would everyone feel about some rather fusiony folks teaching at next year's workshop? Or are we all bent on authentic ATS teachers? (Is it allowable to use ATS and authentic in the same sentence?)
I'd really like to know because, if you can believe it, people are starting to book up for next year already...

Flamenco or Bollywood wouldbe a 10 for me, Goth/Techno a negative number.
The skirt work we did at Tribal Revolution is working out great, the African was fun for an afternoon, but doesn't 'fuse' with Tribal for us.
But it's great that you're planning to do it again. Count TNT in. -

I would also put Flamenco and Bollywood at 10, and probably add Gypsy -- whatever the heck that might mean to people.
I would put Goth/Techno actually at about a 5 for me personally, even though that's not everybody's thing.

The "techno" type stuff will definitely appeal to a younger crowd, and I'm hoping maybe some of the locals would get interested since we have a large college population here. The Flamenco/Bollywood/Gypsy type stuff would appeal to those of us who are looking more into cultural fusion. (I hate to say it, but I'm not sure how much that would appeal to folks in Fargo.)
I guess a mix of both might produce more interest, or make everyone completely disinterested. Hopefully, it won't be the latter... :-D -

Sun, September 18, 2005 - 1:20 PMWe didn't really have a lot of local (which to me means FM area) people at the workshop you put on. And come to think of it we didn't have a lot at the last one either. I wouldn't worry about people who are most likely not going to attend :)
I for one would love some Bollywood. But I'm game for just about anything. Gypsy and Flamenco sound like good choices as well. I wouldn't be disinterested in the techno-whatever stuff, but it's lowest on my list.
