Tribal:Pura DVD?

Would anyone be interested in purchasing a DVD of the show if I decide to produce one? I'm trying to decide (and would need an okay from Carolena and Meg as to whether or not I could include their performance). It also wouldn't be professionally produced since I doubt there'd be enough interest for that...(I just got a DVD burner, so I'd be doing the editing and such myself)

Thoughts?

A lot depends on turnaround time. I ordered DVDs from the Ansuya show in Virginia and Tribal Revolution and haven't seen either yet. My interest level in both has dropped a lot from the time I ordered them.

I have a DVD burner and I've copied a few of my videos to DVD. It takes a lot of time to edit, and a lot of time to burn one. Is your DVD burner in your computer or free-standing? If your classes are starting up soon, you might not want to commit to this.

Actually, that's part of the reason I'm thinking about this. It's a new DVD burner (USB so both my husband and I can use it), and it's pretty fast.

But it's a good point about classes...

I would be interested in a DVD, although it is frustrating to wait for them. Do you need resources for a videographer? My boyfriend has connections up there, so we could ask around.

I'd also be interested in a DVD. I also believe it might end up being more work for you than you intend it to be. I'd want to be something I could play in my living room and not just on my computer.

Maybe I'll do like we did for the MECDA show: I'll provide DVDs or VHS to performers, but I'll just ask for money for materials and shipping (maybe like 4 or 5 bucks). Going that route, though, I know I won't be able to include Carolena and Meg's performance on it, but at least everyone would get to see the other groups.

I know sometimes it's real handy to see stuff that other people are doing...and sometimes it inspires you to change a few things that you're doing. (I know we found one move that TNT does that we really like, so now we're using it.) :-)

You stealers you :) Which move is it? Or do I have to guess :)

Yes just to performers might be a good route to take. Although might I suggest using a volunteer to operate the cameras. Some of the fabulousness of the MECDA show is lost because dancers are so far away :(

It's the one where you do choo-choo singles to the side for 8 counts, turn for 8 counts, to the side again (facing away from the audience), and then turn for 8 more. That may not be the exact count you guys use, but it works pretty well.

We found that choo-choo singles were awfully hard to cue, but that one seems to make it go better and gives the followers more time to catch up if they miss the cue.

As far as cameras go, my husband actually did an incredible job filming at the MECDA show. The problem was that we ran out of tape and missed half of the second part of the show. If we hadn't, that would've been the ones we put on the MECDA tapes instead of from the balcony, which made it awfully hard to see what was going on.

So my husband will be filming from the floor again, and I'll make sure to have spare tapes in triplicate this time. :-D

See that was the move I was guessing actually (can see it on one of the photos). It is a super cool move.

Glad to hear the video situation will be under control. I figured something like that had occurred, since you are so on top of things at these events. :)
