Anyone got anything exciting going on?
I'm teaching a new choreography that's very different from anything we've done before. I'll be very interested to see how people respond to it. (I'm actually a little nervous about how people will respond.)
I'm also revamping our movement vocabulary thanks to a hip problem. I'm trying to work on some balance to our moves so things aren't so "right hipped".
I also heard a rumor that the BDSS are going to be in Minneapolis in November...so I might have to drag my girls down there with me. :-)
So what projects do you all have going on? Workshops? Shows? Let's hear it!

Hi Cherish,
TNT is doing an 'Intro to Tribal' workshop in a couple of weeks and starting classes in October. Tempest will be here in a few weeks, but I think you knew that.
We have a few shows coming up, Earth Dance and Pagan Pride locally and a few people going to Wausau for a benefit show toward the end of this month.
I haven't looked into BDSS, but I did see a discussion about "they won't be in Mpls, so let's go to Chicago" .

Also in Minneapolis, Margo has some workshops coming up. Do you get her flyers? They're all Sunday, all-day workshops. I already signed up for "Shimmies and Finger Cymbals" and "Pop Choreography." I'm vaguely thinking about the Cane Dance, depending on finances in the next couple of months. Some other TNT members expressed interest in some of the other workshops.

Fall is BUSY here in Colo Springs. Looking forward to tribal fusion overload in 2 weeks. Marrakech is sponsoring workshops with Sharon Kihara, Unmata and Urban Tribal. Am so excited! Hoping to attend the Tribal Dreams festival in Lincoln the second weekend of November as well as the Gypsy Caravan workshop the following weekend in Evergreen.
Our cabaret group is working on a zill choreo to be performed at a student night at the end of the month. Mizmar Madness will be performing as well so trying to figure out the switch from cab to tribal costuming. Should be interesting. :) We're also doing our "Taste of Tribal" piece again - basically anyone in the audience can join the group on stage and try to follow the leader. We did it last year and it was a blast!
Other than that, attending classes three times a week, working with a personal trainer to learn Pilates on the machines, planning a new tattoo, purchasing way more tribal jewelry and textiles than any one person would ever need to own and trying to figure out what to wear to my friend Lisa's wedding in Fargo over Thanksgiving weekend.
I'm sure I could fit more in my schedule...right? :) -

Oooohhh, I LIKE that "Taste Of Tribal / Try To Follow The Leader" idea. Hhhmmmm, maybe something to get people up and dancing towards the end of a hafla . . . .
